Prerequisites: ET 108A/CDEV or ET 108A/CDEV skills   

 

Course Description:  Concepts, techniques, and applications of intermediate

            Algebra and introductory trigonometry emphasizing real world applica-

            tions.  Interactive group exercises and traditional lecture-problem-solving

            methods.  CSU

                

Textbook:  Essentials of College Mathematics 2nd Ed. By Cleaves & Hobbs

 

Materials:  Scientific calculator,  Engineering graph paper- 8 1/2 X 11 pad

 

Quizzes:  There will be 4, possibly 5  pop” quizzes given.

                 There will be no make up of missed quizzes.  Quizzes will be given at the

                 start of the period.           

 

Tests:  Two tests and Final Exam will be given .  Dates will be announced in Class.

 

Evaluation Criteria:            Homework                            20%

                                                In-class problems               15%

                                           Quizzes                               10%

                                    Tests                                      30%

                                                Final Exam                             25%

 

Attendance Policy:   Students missing two straight weeks of class without notifying  

            the instructor  will be dropped from the class. 

                        

 

Class Procedure:  Class will start at 12:30 pm sharp.  After the lecture, in-class

           problems will be submitted to the instructor before the end of the period. 

           Homework assignments will be assigned and will be due at the start of the
