Using Secure File Transfer Client

Secure File Transfer Client is a more secure alternative to WS_FTP LE

1. Open SSH Secure Shell File Transfer and log in to hills.

2. If uploading or downloading web files from the hills server, click to the webfiles directory on your computer (local) and to the public_html directory on hills (remote).

Now you can drag-and-drop files from your computer to hills, and vice versa.

The default permissions make any file or folder you place on the remote host visible to others, as they should be for a Web page. If you want to adjust file permissions, right-click a file or directory and select Properties.

The AUTO file transfer mode is the default, and it transfers all files in Binary except those with file extensions of .txt, htm, .html or .bat.

Settings can be adjusted by clicking Edit, then Settings, but the defaults are fine for normal Web site maintenance.
