Note on Accessing "WebAssign" for Math 110A (Schusteff/CCSF)

Although it is not required for our 9-10am section of 110A, if you happened to purchase a version of our course textbook that came with a "WebAssign" access code, you can access their support materials for our class as follows:
  1. Go to http://www.webassign.com/
  2. Click on the "I have a class key" link (near the right edge the browser window, mid-way down...just below the log-in box). This will take you to a new web page with three blank entry fields where you can enter the three blocks of four characters below (the "class key"):
  3. Press the "Submit" button after entering the above "class key" and you'll get a new window asking you to verify the (slightly incorrect looking!) class information below:

Just press the "Yes, this is my class" button. (Explanation: Dennis Piontkowski is the Math Department Chair, and his name was simply used so all our Math 110ABC classes could have a common entry page to access WebAssign's Math 110 series course materials...so don't worry about it not listing your actual instructor's name and course number 110A.)

  4. Follow the instructions on the subsequent web pages to set up a personal WebAssign account, entering the personal access code that came with your book in the appropriate place.
When you're done, you should have an account allowing you to access section-by-section on-line homework assignments similar to those in the book, with some "hints" or other types of extra support. (Sorry about the vagueness here, but I have no access code, and have not seen the materials...so I can't describe or vouch for anything beyond what I've learned from a colleague and written above.)
