ESL 150 ONLINE COURSE INFORMATION

In Fall 2007, ESL 150: Advanced Academic ESL was offered for the first time as an Online Hybrid course. The course is an online hybrid, meaning students will be required to meet once every week on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. However, the remaining three hours of course work will be completed via Insight, a program that CCSF is using for technology mediated instruction. For more specific details about the course, have a look at the Spring 2011 ESL 150 Course Syllabus

For all all students who are either enrolled in the course or on the waiting list, please send an email to your instructor Erin Lofthouse by January 17th. There will be a Mandatory Orientation on the first day of class, which is January 18th. The orientation will be in our classroom in Health Center 201. It is very important that you attend this orientation if you wish to succeed in this course.

You can find out more about online courses here at City College of San Francisco by visiting the CCSF Online Course Info page.

If you are not sure whether on online hybrid course would be right for you, I suggest you visit Is Online Learning For You? This site will quiz you in two areas: your skills as a student and your technical skills.

Finally, you should check the Class Schedule to make sure that your computer systems meets the requirements. You can also check here on the Frequently Asked Questions page. Just scroll down to number 15.
