Mac news:
IMPORTANT: Use Safari or Firefox to open GroupWise for your key and password emails, NOT Internet Explorer.
- When you click Save As beside your key attachment, Safari may save it as an .xml file. Delete .xml so that the name is yrlogin.stc.
The icon may change to a Contribute icon - a C with a key. If it doesn't, don't worry.

- Drag and drop the key icon (whatever it looks like) on the Contribute icon on the dock to start the Contribute login process.
- If you don't have a Contribute icon on your dock, control click (hold down the Control key while you click the file) the key. Choose Open with.... from the popup menu.
- Navigate to your applications folder. You may have to open a Contribute folder as well. Then choose Contribute from the list. Contribute will open up the login screen as usual.
Contribute backup policy (as of Spring 2006):
- We keep three backup versions of your Contribute pages.
- If you want to go back to a previous version of a page after publishing a new version, open the new version and, from the top menu, click File > Actions Rollback to previous version. Then pick which version you want to roll back to.
- If you delete a page you can't roll back to it.
- The webmaster will delete any backup that is more than 6 months old.

I followed the directions and downloaded my key but Contribute didn't open. What happened?
- Does the computer have a copy of Contribute installed? The TLC has copies in its two labs (313 Batmale and 210 Rosenberg library, Ocean campus), and one copy each on a shared computer at most networked campuses and at Castro-Valencia.
Departments or individuals still have to buy their own copy of Contribute for their office or home from the bookstore or the Macromedia education store site.
- Installing the key can be tricky. For on ething, the process has changed with new browser versions, and, on the Mac, with new OS X updates. It's best to have a copy of the key handout for Windows or Mac beside you to make sure that you are doing it right.
